Reverend Vaughn Bell
Rev. Vaughn Bell is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He is the second son born to Tom and Judith Bell and is a graduate of Columbus Public Schools.
Rev . Bell received and answered the Lord’s call to ministry in 1994 and is an ordained minister of the Gospel in the Church of God Reformation Movement, Anderson, IN. Rev. Bell entered fulltime ministry in September of 2001 when he began serving as the Minister of Conservation at the First Church of God in Columbus, Ohio, where Bishop Timothy J. Clarke is the Senior Pastor.
As the Minister of Conservation Rev. Bell is responsible for curriculum development as well as the recruiting and training of the teaching staff for the new member’s and new Christian’s class. He is responsible for membership retention and assisting the members of the First Church of God in assimilating into the life of the church. Rev. Bell formerly served as the director of the Mighty Men of Valor Men’s Ministry where he worked to develop and expand the ministry to include security teams. Rev. Bell is also responsible for providing leadership to the B.O.D.Y. Life Small Groups Ministry where he works to equip potential church leaders for future ministry service. Rev. Bell develops and teaches adult Christian Education classes, leads topical bible studies and preaches the Word of God. In his position as the Minister of Conservation, Rev. Bell believes that his greatest responsibility is supporting Bishop Clarke’s vision of “Making Ready A People Prepared To Meet The Lord.”
In July 2003 Rev. Bell met with Bishop Clarke to discuss his vision for church planting and establishing a new work in southern Delaware County Ohio. The fruit of this meeting led to Rev. Bell becoming the founding pastor of the First Church of God’s first church plant, the Triumphant Church of God. The vision the Lord gave Rev. Bell for this work is “to develop a fellowship of faithful, fully mature disciples for Jesus Christ.”
Rev. Bell’s civic and social involvement includes being a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and serving as a member of the Faith Community Task Force with the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence. Rev. Bell is currently a member of the Board of Church Growth and is a representative on the Church Growth Visioning Team for the Ohio Ministries of the Church of God. He has also served as an advisory board member for the CEASE smoking cessation program and the African American Church Call To Buckle-Up seatbelt safety program.
Rev. Bell has earned a Masters of Divinity degree from the United Theological
Seminary in Dayton, OH and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the Ohio State University. In 1996 Rev. Bell was wed to his lovely wife Chandra and they are the very proud parents of daughters Sierra (deceased), Sydney and Kyndall.
Rev. Bell’s ministry objective is to lead people through preaching and teaching the Word of God, to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior, to develop an eternal relationship with Him, and to realize the destiny that the Lord has placed in them. |
